Nippo Batteries launched its light emitting decode (LED) lantern, which is a lead-acid battery supported lantern, that gives a 15 hour power back-up and can be fully charged within six hours.
Mr.R.K. Gupta, General Manager, Nippo said, "With power cuts being a regular feature across the country in both rural and urban centers, domestic as well as business establishments need alternatives for safety and security purposes. This rechargeable lantern will provide 15 hours of continuous light, a 360 degree reflector and will automatically light up in the event of power failure."
The LED lantern market in the country is in an infant stage with the grey market dominating sales. Orpat is the main competitor to Nippo in the organized segment.
