ED Speech 2008 - FOCUS ON GROWTH

Keeping up with the growth of the Indian economy and the vast potential of each of our products is going to be no small task in the years to come. We have been spending several days each month, locked up in a conference room brainstorming, budgeting and planning for the year ahead. This depth and breadth of the exercise was a first for the company and every department made and presented their individual plans which we then pulled together to come up with RAL’s plan for 2008-09. We emerged stronger as an organizational team with even more conviction in our capabilities and plans than before.

The exercise was driven by mandates for the year ahead which we laid out at the start of the meet:

 

v       Make every individual P&L unit (right down to the regional level), sku category, sku profitable

v       Move towards a KRA driven organization

v       Build processes/systems and follow them

v       Invest in Human Capital - Training

v       Improve P/E quotient - Plan to Execution Quotient

 

As an organization with very humble beginnings, we have come far but have many miles to go. We stand at a very interesting threshold in the life cycle of the company. With great product lines and well defined plans for the future, our game plan is well in place to put RAL in the league of the top few distribution companies in India. Let us all get ready for a great innings starting next year, which will be full of changes, challenges, achievements and surprises.

 

 

In conclusion, let me say that RAL's most valuable assets are its brands and people.

Today's market is very dynamic and increasingly competitive. We have confidence in our strategy and are learning to grow even in declining markets. We are putting in place key enablers to build our capability for sustained high performance. We have brands with rich heritage and strong consumer equity. We have people who bring the power of their ideas and execution to exploit the full potential of our brands towards delivering continued profitable growth for Radiohms Agencies Ltd.
